Strings Instrumental Talent Application Instructions Accepted instruments for Strings Talent auditions include: violin, viola, cello, bass, guitar, piano Auditioning for Strings Talent requires the submission of TWO videos in total: Before playing, clearly state the following information: Your name Your current school Your student ID number (OSIS number) Why do you want to be in Strings Talent at Bay Academy? Introduce your chosen scale ** Please label the video file with your information to help simplify the review process (example: John Adams- C Scale) ** Video 1: Perform ONE scale at your choice of tempo and rhythm that best shows off your range, technique, and intonation. Make sure your entire self can be seen in the video, especially your left and right hands. Video 2: Perform ONE prepared solo selection without accompaniment. (Performing without accompaniment means playing by yourself without a track or additional instruments.) Select a piece you feel confident performing that shows your skill level and musicality. The musical selection should be no more than 5 minutes long. A shortened version of a longer piece is acceptable and encouraged. Make sure your entire self can be seen in the video, especially your left and right hands.
